جایزه بین‌المللی محیط زیست پهلوی ۱۹۷۲ تا ۱۹۷۸

در کنفرانس بین المللی محیط زیست که از سوی سازمان ملل متحد برای محیط زیست در استکهم از ۵ تا ۱۶ ژوئن ۱۹۷۲ برگزار شد، برای نخستین بار توجه هنبازان به نیاز در نگاهبانی از زیستگاه طبیعی برای بهبود چگونگی زندگی همگان کشیده شد. با اراده شاهنشاه آریامهر جایزه سالانه محیط زیست در این کنفرانس برپایه قطعنامه ۳۰۰۳ مجمع عمومی سازمان ملل متحد تصویب شد

دکتر کورت والدهایم دبیرکل سازمان ملل متحد به آگاهی رساند که سومین جایزه بین المللی پهلوی به پروفسوز محمد آل کساس از کشور مصر و دکتر تورهیرال از کشور نروژ داده شده است.

3003 - (XXVII). International Prize for the most outstanding contribution in the field of the environment

The General Assembly::,

Recalling recommendation 38 of the Action Plan for the Human Environment adopted by teh United Nations Conference on the Human Environment,

REcalling also that one main purpose of the Conference was to increase the awareness among Governments and public opinion about the importance and urgency of the problems of the environment.

Recognizing that effective international co-operation in the field of teh environment should be firmly based on action at the national level,

Welcomes teh initiative of the Government of Iran in setting aside an area constituting an ecosystem of global importance to be placed in joint trust with an international agency and in establishing an annual prize by that Government for the most oustanding contribution in the field of the environment to be awarded through the United Nations
